Business Start-up Websites and Pricing

Recently I have noticed increased numbers of people in business start-up contacting me. Most are simply seeking website services and price ballparks. I'm writing this article to answer some common questions.
First and foremost I want to point out that I am very encouraging toward people starting up their own business. It can be a very exciting journey. Money and budgets are an obvious concern though during this initial phase, as is Return on Investment. If you are seeking a website and looking to spent wisely please read on.
Marketing and Promotion
Investing in marketing and promotion is of course an important early step, as is some form of website presence. Do you really need an entire multi-page website right away though? If your website is the critical component (eg. an online business) the answer is most definately yes. In other cases though all you may require during the first 1 to 2 month period is some advice on how to promote yourself effectively online using free services. For example think about listing your business on the following online business directories: True Local, Google Places (was called Google Local) and other free online Directories.
Tip: Ensure your profile is set up correctly. Using quality, persuasive information will help your listings come up in the search engines and help generate real enquiries and leads. Remember to save your login username and password details as you will need these again.
Your First Business Website
When thinking about your first website consider an interim 1 page mini website as a cost effective stage 1 starting-point. If designed correctly this 1 page mini website can serve your business well for up to 12 months and not cost you the earth! It should also be designed so that it can be easly expanded into a multi-page website as this too will save you money. In my opinion this is effective Return on Investment and is one of the package options I offer.
Please note: while the bare minimum cost for such a website is $800.00, it is something of real value. It will help you to make the right impression, will generate enquiries as an online form is embedded in the page and is built professionally which means it is also search engine friendly. On the other hand a standard small website is usually at minumum $1,400.00 and consists of 3 - 5 pages. This kind of website is appropiate to effectively grow your business online. Gayndah Retirement Website Launched

The Gayndah nursing home have just launched their first website. It's been a very personally rewarding project as in I've enjoyed giving back to the community that I was a part of 12 years ago.
I've worked on several similar projects recently and look forward to the next not-for-profit organisation website project.
Web Design Business Relocation: from Brisbane to Bundaberg

It's true what they say: "you can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy".
Last month I moved from Brisbane's West End to my new base of operation here in Bundaberg. After 10 years mostly living and working in inner Brisbane I've decided it's time to escape the rat-race and get back to a more relaxed and outdoors lifestyle. Having grown up in Gayndah I am very excited to once again call the Burnett region home! Bring on the tree change balanced lifestyle I say!
